The other day my kids and I were home on a lazy afternoon in pajamas and from out of nowhere the clouds opened up and it rained!! I immediately jumped at the opportunity and shouted, “let’s make hot chocolate and have it with cookies as we watch the rain.” The kids were so excited and we sat by the window; me sipping hot chocolate and they sipping regular milk with cocoa as we ‘watched the rain.”
This is the slow and savory of childhood that I do not want to miss. It is in these moments that I soak in and let time slow down. I hope we can make this “a thing” – that we will stop and watch the rain, sip hot chocolate, and maybe count the raindrops on the window.
