The Case for sitcoms

This past weekend after browsing all over from Netflix Kids to Disney Plus and watching part of Buzz Light year we settled on a sitcom – Good Luck Charlie. I am a 90s baby. I grew up rapping line by line The Fresh Prince of Bel-air, Blossom, Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, Step By Step, 227. There were just so many good shows. What I remember too was I started watching them pretty young. So to my surprise lo and behold when both kids (6) and (4) seemed to be enjoying Good Luck Charlie I was amazed. I really enjoyed the episodes we watched to. It was so light and I left feeling – wow I remember why we loved sitcoms.

While the kids may not fully grasp some of the content, there was just something so normal about watching a sitcom than the regular animated, hypertoned & hyperactivity cartoons and kids movies we have been used to. There was a slowness to it. It felt real. Sitcoms have my vote today. Did you grow up watching sitcoms?
